What follows are highlights of some of the work I've done. Because this work is all for clients, I can't provide full download copies except upon request.

User-experience design

I did extensive work with Precept Ministries International. I was involved in the design of their award winning website from the content strategy phase all the way through production. In the process I delivered a site-paths document where we took personas on a "visit" to the new site. The site-paths document allowed us to find and solve usability problems before we spent time producing the site.

Information architecture

We had to redesign Hope for the Heart's website in a little less than two months. We had to scrap the old architecture because it in no way reflected their goals as an organization. I was responsible for creating an information architecture to communicate these goals and could be produced on the tight timeline. To speed up the IA process I followed the lead of Doug Nelson and combined the homepage wireframe with the sitemap.

Web 2.0 strategy

It doesn’t matter what you call it, the web is changing. Some take a if you build it they will come approach. I take the approach that you don’t forget everything you’ve learned with the new read/write web, you extend that knowledge with new tools. This document was prepared to explain to clients how they can expand their audience using social networks. The idea was to cleanly capture the effect of engaging in social networks.

Platform integration

This year ADRA was looking to improve the usability of their gift catalog. It was my role to figure out how to best implement user feedback on their existing platform. The resulting IA not only looked at how pages would be structured, but also gave specific production direction and bridged the gap between the online catalog and a planned communication stream promoting the catalog.

Communications strategy

The H.E. Butt foundation has complicated relationships with the programs it sponsors. When they asked us to design websites for these programs everyone was having trouble communicating those relationships. After a group brainstorming meeting, I was tapped to diagram these relationships and how they would be communicated on the web. We presented it to their team and finally everything clicked.
